Since COVID-19 hit WA State, we have worked alongside community to bring food to community, support farmworkers during strikes across Central WA, support local Latino businesses in King and Yakima Counties, and provide weekly COVID-19 updates on radio. And you have been there every step of the way. All the funds raised through our COVID-19 RESILIENCY FUND have provided direct support for workers, families, businesses - our community! And now, Latino Community Fund is saying ALL IN WA! Latino Community Fund of WA State stands in solidarity with the Black community. There must be justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Charleena Lyles, Shawn Fuhr, and the too many lives taken at the hands of police brutality. In the midst of a global pandemic, we see a system that continues to be broken, and the racism that fuels that system. Our communities are tired. A message from Lilliane Ballesteros, LCF Executive Director: Over the past two months, our communities have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. And as we continue to care for our families and support our workers, we know that there is still much to do. Latino Community Fund is committed to our mission, now more than ever, to investing in leaders and organizations across WA.  In the past year, we have grown our team across the state - from King County to Yakima, Wenatchee to Tri-Cities. And we have made it a priority this year to ensure we continue to support families and businesses through this crisis and as we build a new structure beyond this crisis. We are providing direct support in the form of food vouchers for families to local Latino businesses in South King County and Mabton. Our teams are calling families to ensure we have a safe and accurate 2020 Census count. And we are starting our phone banking to make sure our community is heard at local elections in 2020.  As Executive Director, I am honored to work alongside a team that works every day to ensure that our families are supported, that our communities count, and that our voices are heard!
