Over the last 11 years, LCF has: 

• Engaged over 10,000 individuals in King, Snohomish, and Pierce County, providing access to health care and environmental justice education and awareness through the Healthy Families Initiative;
• Empowered over 20,000 community leaders to become civically engaged through community dialogues on environmental and climate justice and Get out the Vote campaigns, in Spanish and English, in Snohomish, Pierce, King, Benton, Clark and Yakima counties.
• Enhanced the power of Youth across Washington State through civic engagement and leadership training as part of the Alianza Leadership Network.

Since it began, LCF has invested over $500,000 in community grants and scholarships to improve education, economic empowerment, arts, civic engagement, environmental justice and health in our communities. It has also facilitated more than $800,000 for fiscally sponsored projects that have benefited thousands more community members through arts, legal aid, counseling, health, children and youth programs. And has invested $400,000 in improving access to benefits for families, which continues to grow as families return benefits to our communities across Washington State.

Healthy Latino Families Initiative

LCF provides free and unbiased counseling to over 1,200 individuals each year, helping connect underrepresented communities to health care related resources. In addition to being part of a statewide Benefits Enrollment Center, LCF also offers community engagement, outreach, and education services regarding different environmental issues that affect the health of families through the King County Dirt Alert program. Washington Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy

WA-LNLA supports the leadership growth and development of individual participants, the leadership and management of nonprofit organizations to be more effective in achieving their mission, and builds collective impact through coalescing of shared strengths and networking for stronger community voice with policy makers to achieve equitable systemic change.

LCF develops skills, knowledge and collective networks of leaders and organizations to address the needs of the growing Latino population. 

Alianza Leadership Network

Through the Alianza program, young leaders engage in their communities through community and civic engagement projects on the most pressing issues affecting our Latino community in King County, issues identified by the community. Click here to learn more.

El Futuro Project

El Futuro Project was create by Alianza youth as a leadership and service-learning program for young Latina/o leaders who want to make a difference in the educational equity movement by:

• Working to increase early learning opportunities for Latina/o children
• Serving on a grant committee to invest in their community
• Participating in leadership training and community engagement projects

Coalitions

Latino Community Fund actively contributes to several strategic partnerships and coalitions in Washington State to increase civic engagement, advance racial equity, and achieve better policy outcomes for communities of color. Latino Equity Network

The Washington Latino Equity Network formed in November 2014, after nine Latino non-profit organizations participated in the Washington Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy, hosted by the Latino Community Fund.  During the Academy, these leaders coalesced around a shared vision of lifting up the voices of Latino communities in Washington State and the need for carrying those voices to policy makers. The members of the Latino Equity Network work with thousands of Latino families in communities across the state, from Olympia to Everett to Spokane. The collective knowledge and experience these leaders bring in working with Latino families is enormous, and informed the six common issues contained in this agenda. In addition to the Academy leaders, the Latino Equity Network surveyed hundreds of community members from each locale about the issues and recommendations that are captured in the agenda.
